Getting treats should always be a great experience for your dog. Treats should be easy to eat, nutritionally beneficial and something dogs can get excited about. Whether you give treats as positive reinforcement during training, as a reward after vet visits or just for fun, you want your dog to love them.
One of our favorite treat brands is Dingo. Dingo has a huge variety of treat types that taste great and make dogs happy. We also include Dingo treats in our Woof Pack subscription boxes, so you can be assured that these awesome treats are hand-picked to be your pup’s favorite snack! Some of our favorite varieties which we’ll highlight here are the Boomerangs, Real Cheese Spirals and Dingo Delights.

Dingo brand dog treats began as a project of a pet parent who thought regular dog treats were too bland. Tired of feeding his dog flavorless rawhide chews, he created a chewable treat from a combination of jerky and rawhide. Dingo brand treats come in both rawhide and rawhide-free varieties, and the brand makes both treats and chew toys. Dingo offers many sizes and flavors of treats and toys to satisfy all different kinds of dogs. Their products are designed to keep dogs wanting more!
Why you should consider rawhide-free chews:
Though Dingo does have rawhide options available, we at Woof Pack never include these treats in our subscription boxes. Dingo has a wide variety of non-rawhide chews and we think those are great! Rawhide can pose a number of threats to your pooch, so it’s best that you steer clear from products containing it. Some of the biggest reasons not to give your furry friend rawhide products are as follows:
- Rawhide chews can easily break and cause choking hazards in dogs.
- Rawhide expands when it reaches your pup’s stomach, so pieces of swallowed rawhide can result in digestional blockages
- Some rawhides have been found to be made from toxic chemicals
- The manufacturing process for rawhides can leave poisons such as formaldehyde and arsenic in the chews
- Rawhides can even contain bits of skin and other unfavorable leftovers from animals. Yuck!
Luckily, there are many other great-tasting options for your dog that don’t contain rawhide!

Ingredients to be aware of
While Dingo treats are delicious, be advised that some of the snacks contain ingredients which pups can sometimes be sensitive to. Here are a few ingredients found in these treats that you might cause trouble for your pooch:
Wheat Gluten (found in Dingo Delights and cheese spirals):Gluten is a usually harmless protein found in types of food, usually grain-based items. Dogs are typically okay eating wheat gluten because unlike cats, their digestive systems are able to handle both animal and plant based products. However, some dogs have a gluten intolerance which can cause diarrhea, weight loss, coat degradation and other adverse effects. Luckily, gluten intolerances are not common in dogs but just be aware of Dingo products if your furry friend has special diet needs.
Methyl Paraben (found in Delights and Boomerangs):
These preservatives can have adverse effects on dogs’ endocrine systems. There have been studies that link these preservatives to hormonal and reproductive disruptions.
Glycerin (found in all 3 products):
Glycerin is not inherently harmful to your pup, but it’s something to watch out for if your pet has a sensitive stomach. This ingredient is used to retain moisture in foods and can sometimes serve as a sugar substitute. Glycerin is considered a Sugar Alcohol, and can have laxative effects on your pet if given in too large a quantity. Older dogs or dogs with sensitive digestive systems could have trouble with this ingredient, so use your best judgement for your furry friend.
The Dingo products listed here luckily do not contain any severely harmful ingredients, but pet owners should still do their research to determine whether these treats are right for their pooch. The treats also use 100% real meat, which adds nutritional value. If you are looking for ultra-nutritious, completely natural treats without preservatives or allergens, we suggest Zuke’s, one of our favorite brands of healthful dog treats.
Who loves Dingo treats?
Dogs of all ages and sizes can enjoy Dingo treats. The smaller treats (such as the Dingo Delights) make great training aids and the larger treats (like the Real Cheese Spirals) are perfect for when your pooch wants to chew a little. All of the treats, though some textured, are soft and easy-to-chew so that they are accessible to older dogs with fewer teeth. The treats are great oral hygiene aids as well because their material mimics rawhide. Unless you have a super picky pooch, your dog will love the strong flavor and fun shapes of these treats.
Dingo treats are great for a wide variety of dogs. They run an average of $10 per bag, which is well-worth the price for dogs who love the treats. Their strong flavor can sometimes give them a strong scent, but this can be easily remedied by feeding these treats outside. As with any treats, Dingo treats can sometimes break into smaller pieces when chewed, so be aware. Always supervise your furry friends when they enjoy these treats!
