Outdoor Organizer

toy bin

Most dogs have both indoor and outdoor toys. In our house, the outdoor toys are dirty, torn to pieces, or simply smell too bad to come into the house. We struggle to find good places to store our dog’s outdoor toys; obviously; leaving them out in the yard exposed to the elements will drastically shorten the life span of your toys. Fortunately, there’s an easy way to store all of your dog’s outdoor supplies.  The Suncast outdoor Storage box is the perfect place to store all of your dog’s outdoor supplies; water bowls, toys, sprinklers, and even outdoor dog beds.

This bin is made for outdoor use. It can withstand the elements, and even comes with a 5-year warranty. This particular bin is 23 x 18 x 23 inches, and weighs 13 lbs. In our opinion, it’s the well worth the price (under $40). If you have a ton of outdoor dog toys, bowls, or even just an outdoor bed that needs a place to be stored, this is a great solution.

Dog house

Dog houses are great for dogs! If your pooch is going to be spending extended periods of time outdoors, it’s important that they have a place to take shade; whether that be under a tree, an awning, or a dog house. We love dog houses because they give your dog a cozy place to hangout that they know is all theirs. They can take cover from the heat and sun, and still be able to see all around the yard. Additionally, you can fill your dog’s house with a dog bed, food and water bowls, and even use the house to store their outdoor toys.

Petsfit Dog House

The Petsfit Wooden dog house is a practical and durable dog house for dogs of just about any size. Fortunately, this house is fairly easy to assemble and light enough to move around easily. It’s also made from cedar giving it a sleek look that can withstand the outdoors. Unfortunately, the wood is fairly thin and can be easily cracked if you have an aggressive pup. The hinges of the roof are also easy to break if you’re not careful while assembling and opening the roof.

The house is available in four sizes ranging from 30” long to 45” long, easily accommodating breeds up to 90 pounds. The house is available in three colors; red, gray, and turquoise, painted with non-toxic weather-proof paint. This house is built with the outdoors in mind; with elevation to regulate temperature and waterproof feet. The roof and floor of this dog house also open for easy cleaning.  The Petsfit house is both a cute and practical house suitable for nearly any dog.

Water Fountain

smartchoice water fountain

Water fountains may not be the most exciting thing for you, but to Fido , it’s a platform for fun! This water fountain not only keeps your dog hydrated and cool, but entertains your pooch. Simply have your pooch stand on the pedal to trigger the water. You may have to train Fido to step on the pedal, but they’ll get the hang of it in no time.

The water fountain is easy to set up; simply connect it to your hose or faucet and you’ll be ready to go. You can adjust the height of the water by adjusting the valve screw or adjusting the shut off valve on the hose splitter. Dogs love playing in the water, and with this, you don’t have to constantly give them attention. They can have fun with the water while you’re busy outside. The fountain is rust-resistant, durable, and fun to use!

Doggie Door

Your dog can’t enjoy the backyard if they’re stuck inside all of the time. With a doggie door, Fido never has to wait for you to run around outside, or to come back inside. If your backyard is fenced in, a doggie door may be perfect for you! Your dog will have the freedom to run around without bugging you to go outside all of the time. Dog doors can prevent accidents, and destructive behavior caused by boredom.

Sliding glass doors are by far the easiest dog doors to install. You can easily test out the door on any sliding door in your house, and return it if you find it doesn’t fit your dog’s needs. The Petsafe Freedom Patio is one of our favorite doggie doors. They’ve been a well established brand in the US since 1991, and they’ve truly excelled when it comes to dog doors. Their sliding dog door is made with safe and durable materials that will ensure your dog has a safe door to get through no matter what the weather..

This doggie door is simple to install; simply slide the panel into your sliding door track, secure it to the door, and apply some weather proofing. You won’t have to put any holes in your doors or walls with this simple doggie door.

tether tug

tether tug

This Tether Tug is the perfect way to keep your dog active while they’re outside. No need to constantly throw a tennis ball for them; the tether tug does all of the work for you! Made with a fiberglass pole and nylon cotton rope, even the largest breeds can roughhouse with this toy. When your dog jumps up to grab the rope, the pole will bend and entice them to keep pulling.

Dogs of all sizes will get a kick out of this fun toy. It’s available in 5 sizes as well, so you can get the perfect height and strength for your spunky pup. The small is suitable for dogs under 15 lbs, the medium is designed for dogs 15-34 pounds, the large is made for 35-59 lbs, the XL is suitable for dogs 60-99 lbs, and the uber is for any dog over 100 lbs. If your dog is a really rough chewer with a strong grip, we recommend going up a size.

Marking Post

Is your yard all patchy from your dog’s random markings? A dog marking post can drastically change the look of your backyard. Your dog will learn to do their business around this fun fire hydrant, leaving the rest of your yard alone. If your dog struggles to figure out what the post is for, you can rub some of their urine on the base (yes, somewhat gross, but worth it).

The fire hydrant is about 14″ high, and perfect for all size breeds. It’ll help your dog know exactly where to go potty each time, and keep your grass looking great. Additionally, if you need your pooch to do their business quickly, simply walk them out to the hydrant, they’ll know what they’re really outside to do!

Chaise Bed

Is there anything better than having a Chaise bed on your patio for your pooch? We don’t think so. This Chaise bed will keep your dog comfortable, out of the shade, and looking great all at the same time. This great outdoor lounge will be the best seat in the house, and it’s just for Fido!

This Chaise bed is constructed out of poly rattan, and of course also has a comfortable pillow on top for your dog. The cushion is 6″ thick, allowing your pooch to sink in and relax. We love this chaise bed because it’s both cute and practical! Especially during the summer months, you want to keep your dog out of the sun to prevent overheating. This bed provides shade, and the white cushion will reflect most of the sun’s rays.

This fun bed is available in two sizes. The large is 38″ wide, 28″ deep, and 25″ high. The XL is 43″ wide, 31.5″ deep, and 41″ high. Both loungers are a bit expensive, but considering the style, quality materials, and practicality, it’s worth the price in our opinion, if you think your dog will want to lounge on it.

Fortunately, this bed will last you nearly a lifetime. The entire bed is waterproof, and the cushion has a stain resistant top. No need to rush out and bring the cushion in when it rains! Check out this bed on Amazon, and find the perfect size for Fido.

Turf

Astro turf is another way to keep your backyard looking spectacular when you have a dog. No more uneven patches, no more mowing, and best of all, your dog can still run around and use the bathroom wherever they want. To clean up after your pooch, simply wash the area with water. Water will sink right through and be absorbed by the soil underneath. It’s incredibly easy to clean, safe for the environment, and of course, safe for Fido.

turf

This fake grass is resistant to heat, has drainage holes for heavy rain, and is durable enough to withstand your dog’s constant playing. Additionally, this grass will keep your dog from leaving ugly holes and spots all over your yard.

While this may be the perfect grass for Fido, it’s also great for you as well. You don’t have to mow it, fertilize it, fill in holes, or worry about droughts. Your yard will be the envy of the neighborhood.

In our opinion this grass is a must for pet owners that can’t stand the constant digging and feces spots all over their yard. It’s low maintenance, fire resistant, and affordably priced.

Adirondack Chair

kai

This Adirondack chair is a favorite of ours. Our chihuahua, Kai, likes to lay out and soak up the sun every chance she gets. As you can see, the chair is quite small, but perfect for tiny breeds such as chihuahua’s. It’s sturdy, waterproof, stain resistant, and comfortable for dogs. Additionally, it’s very low off of the ground; much better for your dog’s joints than a high chair that they have to jump off and on.

This chair is 22″L x 14 1/4″W x 13″H, allowing smaller breeds to curl up in style. It’s also great for cats that like to lounge around outside. If you have a smaller breed, we highly recommend this chair. It’s low to the ground, and the colors reflect much of the sun’s rays. When it gets dirty, simply hose it off and let your pooch get back to their lounging lifestyle.

agility course

Setting up an agility course in your backyard is a great way to bond with your dog and help them to relieve some energy. Your dog will love to explore the various props and you’ll have fun training them to run around them. No matter what breed you have, an agility course is a great addition to your backyard. It stimulates both their mind and their body, and of course, you’ll be able to spend more time with your dog in the process!

dog backyard course

The Affordable Agility Course Kit is an easy way to bond with your pup and keep them active all year long. This kit is great for both indoor and outdoor use. It’s made with soft, safe materials that won’t hurt your pup, or damage your house. This kit includes a jump hoop, weave poles, and a high jump pole. We love this agility kit because it’s lightweight, easy to set up, and can be used for dogs of all sizes. The pieces are made of durable polyester which will prevent ripping and allow your dog to play for hours on end.
